After two angry posts where some really harsh words were used at the criminal genocidal maniacs and their vile backers, I’ve decided that it’s time for an apology. Yes, after reading some of my own words again, I do owe an apology to some. I’ve compared the mass murderers in the Rajapaksa regime in SL and their backers in world governments as well as the ones in their pay to sewer rats, vicious vermin, rabid canines and filthy swine.

I certainly owe an apology to all the canines, vermin and swine of planet Earth! In my anger, I committed the mistake of comparing these wonderful creatures of Mother Nature to the lowly sub-human, sub-animal filth beings in the rogue SinHELLa establishment, their backers in the Indian establishment as well as the crooked Commie criminals of the Chinese regime and the bloated, bureaucratic filth that populate the United Nations. By using the words canines, vermin and swine as insults, I’ve inadvertently done a grave injustice to all the dogs, wolves, hyenas, rats and pigs on the blue planet. I should not have compared these noble four-legged creatures with the filthy two-legged ones mentioned above.

Pigs and rats have many noble qualities that certain clothed-apes-with-opposable-thumbs lack:

I also should not have used the word “bitch” as an insult. Though I love cats, I like dogs very much as well. Moreover, once, when as a kid, I was playing alone in the garden, the female pet dog we had at the time courageously fought off a snake that could have harmed me. I don’t know if it was a poisonous snake but it was certainly a nasty looking slithering creature whose presence I was not aware of. I cannot forget the noble qualities of that female dog. It’s not without reason that a dog is considered as man’s best friend.

I love animals and for the ones that I don’t love, like cockroaches, I respect them for what they are. I’ve heard that cockroaches can survive the radiation from a nuclear attack. Maybe they are the only living creatures left unharmed as the rogue SinHELLa forces use chemical weapons on women and children with the full knowledge (and most disgustingly, full support, lip-service notwithstanding) of world governments and the United Nations. The only creatures that I really hate are mosquitoes. Those buzzing bloodsuckers don’t just suck the blood of humans and animals but are a real nuisance as well. But I don’t think even they have the capacity to guzzle human blood like the barbaric, cold-blooded murderers in the SinHELLa state.

No matter how “advanced” or “evolved” apes-with-opposable-thumbs may consider themselves compared to other animals, the scientific fact is that animals are just as “human” as any two-legged ape that wears clothes. If you’ve had a pet at any point of time, you would understand what I mean. Animals have the same emotions as humans do. Just because they cannot communicate their emotions clearly to us, it does not mean that they do not possess them. And I don’t just mean cats or dogs or other pets. It true of even lower mammals.

Consider this: There are many examples of apparent emotional behaviour in other animals. Elephants caring for a crippled herd member seem to show empathy. A funeral ritual performed by magpies suggests grief. Divers who freed a humpback whale caught in a crab line describe its reaction as one of gratitude. Then there’s the excited dance chimps perform when faced with a waterfall – it looks distinctly awe-inspired. These days, few doubt that animals have emotions, but whether they feel these consciously, as we do, is open to debate. Read the full article here.

And if you thought morals and ethics were a “human” trait, think again. Consider this: A classic study in 1964 found that hungry rhesus monkeys would not take food they had been offered if doing so meant that another monkey received an electric shock. The same is true of rats. Does this indicate morality? For decades, we have preferred to find alternative explanations, but recently ethologist Marc Bekoff from the University of Colorado at Boulder has championed the view that humans are not the only moral species. He argues that morality is common in social mammals, and that during play they learn the rights and wrongs of social interaction, the “moral norms that can then be extended to other situations such as sharing food, defending resources, grooming and giving care”.

“Work published this year showed that animals are able to make social evaluations and these assessments are foundational for moral behaviour in animals other than humans. Francys Subiaul of the George Washington University and his colleagues showed that captive chimpanzees are able to make judgments about the reputation of unfamiliar humans by observing their behaviour – whether they were generous or stingy in giving food to other humans. The ability to make character judgments is just what we would expect to find in a species in which fairness and cooperation are important in interactions among group members. As I mentioned, it’s not just about higher mammals. Even rats have a sense of empathy. Consider this: Mice appear to empathize with pain in other critters they’re familiar with, a capacity previously thought to exist only in higher primates.

The mice were given mild noxious stimuli that caused a stomach ache-like pain. Aside from the pain response itself, the researchers also studied how the mice interacted when they could see a cagemate in pain. The behaviour included whether they spent more time together or followed each other.

So, even vermin like mice have a sense of empathy and understanding of the suffering of their fellow creatures! So what prevents creatures from Ban Ki-Moon and the other bureaucratic filth that populate the United Nations from exhibiting the noble qualities of rats? How can they not just turn a blind eye, but actually increase the enormous man-made suffering of civilians in the genocide zone of SinHELLa Lanka, though they are fully aware of it? It cannot be because of that. SinHELLa Lanka is a tiny bankrupt rogue state that goes with a begging bowl around the world. It does not even have one-hundredth of the power of the Zionist state of Israel. Yet Israel is condemned by the UN for killing around one thousand civilians in a program of state terror on Gaza that ended in one week. SinHELLa Lanka, in contrast, has butchered (and continues to butcher) tens of journalists apart from 10,000 civilians in the last three months alone and has maimed more than twice that number, detained more than ten times that number in Nazi-style concentration camps and is deliberately starving fifteen times that number! Yet, for the filthy scum beings in the UN, the issue is too “sensitive” to even merit a discussion in the Security Council. Sub-rattus sewer creatures! The real reason as I’ve mentioned in earlier posts, is that every one of these creatures is directly or indirectly involved in this heinous genocide without witness.

So I did a grave injustice to rats and swine by comparing them to filthy scum creatures like the Rajapaksas and their backers – lowly beings like Chin Jin and Chin Jia (CCP dictatorial gang of Hu Jintao and Wen Jiabao) from the organ harvesting, toxic baby-food producing Middle Kingdom with the long, crumbling mud Wall in its middle and Manmohan Singh, Pranab Mukherjee, P.Chidambaram, M.K.Narayanan, Shivshankar Menon, Subramaniam Swamy, N.Ram, Alok Prasad, M.Karunanidhi, Ban Ki-Moon, Vijay Nambiar and John Holmes. These creatures and others involved in the worst genocide of the 21st century shall have to pay for their crimes against humanity some day or the other. There shall be no escape for these shameless Pithecanthropuses!

While the filthy bureaucratic vermin at the United Nations try desperately to cover up a genocide taking place with their full knowledge because of the involvement of several world powers in this genocide by a rogue regime that has killed nearly 8,000 civilians in the last four months alone, more and more unspeakable war crimes are coming to the attention of civilised human beings. In a genocide without witness, where all media, international aid workers and even UN staff are banned from the genocide zone to cover up the worst war crimes of the 21st century, where courageous journalists are butchered by government death squads, heinous war crimes are taking place with every passing moment.

In the latest horrific war crime, a makeshift hospital was shelled by heavy weaponry, killing a doctor, two nurses and 61 patients. This had taken place despite the exact co-ordinates of the hospital being passed to the rogue forces by the ICRC.

After all, not everyone is a filthy sub-human, sub-animal scum creature who takes great pleasure in watching fellow humans suffer or try to to dismiss heinous crimes that they passively support as “the internal affair” of another country. Internal affair, my foot! The filthy swine at the United Nations have an obligation to ensure that governments have a responsibility to protect (R2P) civilians in a conflict, failing which the United Nations has to do the same. In a genocide being perpetrated by a rogue state, the UN fails to step in because criminal scum in the Chinese and Russian regimes (with the latter ever eager to lick the filthy asses of the swine in the Indian establishment) are actively backing the genocide and the other three of the P5 rogues (USA, UK and France) are passively backing it despite being humiliated by the rabid dogs of the Sinhala regime (Sweden’s humanitarian envoy was flatly refused a visa by this bankrupt country that is totally dependent on foreign aid). But if you care to do some research of your own, to your great shock and horror, you will find out that most of what she says is chillingly true. If you believe everything the “mainstream media” keeps dishing out to you, then probably you are living in a fool’s paradise. The media is supposed to be “free” and act as the “fourth pillar” in a democracy, exposing, naming and shaming the powers that be when they act against the people. In reality, the “mainstream media” are nothing but paid agents of the very same powers. The “mainstream media” are nothing but a bunch of propaganda agents, owned, paid for and controlled by big government and big corporations. Learning the truth from the “mainstream media” is as difficult as finding a needle in a haystack.

That brings us to independent journalism. Thanks to the growth of the internet, many people now have access to some real independent journalists who bring to one’s notice things that are never reported by the “mainstream media”. Despite the efforts of big government and big money to censor and control the internet, one still has access to these sources and they should be applauded for the work they are doing.

Then there are other folks who expose the powers that be. Their reports may seem outlandish at first and it easy to dismiss them as conspiracy theorists or plain nut cases. But a little research would inform you that most of what they say is shockingly true. Sure, some of them have a tendency to exaggerate stuff, but it would be foolish to dismiss them without examining things oneself. The deeper one gets into things, the more credible their reports seem and the “mainstream media” looks more like the joke that they actually are.

In case you thought all events just happen without some force behind them all, then think again. Living in a Third World country can open your eyes to things that you would never know if you live in a First World country. In a typical Third World country (like the one where I live), one learns that the elite class that has all the power (the big money players and the corrupt politicians and bureaucrats who are either inextricably linked with and/or paid for by the elite) hate the masses and are not interested in their well-being. Instead, they would love to impoverish the middle class and suck the life out of the poor and treat them as serfs to enrich themselves. However, in order to maintain a facade of democracy, elections are organised regularly. The votes deprive the ruling classes of some, but only some, of their greed. They still control everything. The police in the Third World, more often than not, does not act like a true police force. They are there only to protect the ruling classes and to prevent crimes against the ruling classes and the establishment. The army, more often than not, does not act like a true army. The troops are used for “internal security duties”, in other words, they are used by the establishment as paid mercenaries to fight and oppress their own fellow citizens whom they are supposed to protect from external enemies. A Third World pseudo-democracy has all of the above features. That’s because power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. And money and power are inextricably linked.

As for the Eezham Tamils and the diaspora, they must have now realised the futility of appealing to the conscience of the few civilised people in the world when all they do is to make a few mild noises. This is a post about two kinds of journalism under extremely different circumstances. First, a salute to several independent journalists who dared to speak the truth about one of the most evil, fascist, genocidal regimes in world history and have paid the price for it. Under an evil, barbaric, murderous regime that has crushed all norms of decency, democracy, human rights and civilised behaviour, several journalists have dared to uphold the norms of unbiased journalism, publishing the facts and questioning reports dished out by the war criminals running the government.

First, one of the greatest journalists in the world, Lasantha Wickramatunge, the editor of The Sunday Leader, who was always known for his unbiased journalism, one who dared to expose corruption and crimes of any regime in Sri Lanka. He was on the hit-list of the murderous Rajapaksa goons’ regime for some time. He paid the ultimate price, when he was attacked viciously and then shot dead as he was driving to work by a government death squad, similar to the ones that are used to butcher innocent Tamil civilians in many parts of Sri Lanka:

Lasantha was not just an honest journalist, but an extremely intelligent man. He knew his life was in danger for he had predicted his own death at the hands of a government death squad and had written an article and saved it on his computer, to be published after the the scum beings killed him. He puts the blame squarely on the Rajapaksa regime. Read the full article here. Here are some excerpts (emphasis added):

No other profession calls on its practitioners to lay down their lives for their art save the armed forces and, in Sri Lanka, journalism. In the course of the past few years, the independent media have increasingly come under attack. Electronic and print-media institutions have been burnt, bombed, sealed and coerced. Countless journalists have been harassed, threatened and killed. It has been my honour to belong to all those categories and now especially the last……We find ourselves in the midst of a civil war ruthlessly prosecuted by protagonists whose bloodlust knows no bounds. Terror, whether perpetrated by terrorists or the state, has become the order of the day. Indeed, murder has become the primary tool whereby the state seeks to control the organs of liberty. Today it is the journalists, tomorrow it will be the judges. For neither group have the risks ever been higher or the stakes lower……Why then do we do it? I often wonder that. After all, I too am a husband, and the father of three wonderful children. I too have responsibilities and obligations that transcend my profession, be it the law or journalism. Is it worth the risk? Many people tell me it is not……But there is a calling that is yet above high office, fame, lucre and security. It is the call of conscience.The Sunday Leader has been a controversial newspaper because we say it like we see it: whether it be a spade, a thief or a murderer, we call it by that name. We do not hide behind euphemism. The investigative articles we print are supported by documentary evidence thanks to the public-spiritedness of citizens who at great risk to themselves pass on this material to us. We have exposed scandal after scandal, and never once in these 15 years has anyone proved us wrong or successfully prosecuted us……Every newspaper has its angle, and we do not hide the fact that we have ours. Our commitment is to see Sri Lanka as a transparent, secular, liberal democracy…

…The Sunday Leader has never sought safety by unquestioningly articulating the majority view. Let’s face it, that is the way to sell newspapers. On the contrary, as our opinion pieces over the years amply demonstrate, we often voice ideas that many people find distasteful. For example, we have consistently espoused the view that while separatist terrorism must be eradicated, it is more important to address the root causes of terrorism, and urged government to view Sri Lanka’s ethnic strife in the context of history and not through the telescope of terrorism. We have also agitated against state terrorism in the so-called war against terror, and made no secret of our horror that Sri Lanka is the only country in the world routinely to bomb its own citizens. For these views we have been labelled traitors, and if this be treachery, we wear that label proudly……Neither should our distaste for the war be interpreted to mean that we support the Tigers. The LTTE are among the most ruthless and bloodthirsty organisations ever to have infested the planet. There is no gainsaying that it must be eradicated. But to do so by violating the rights of Tamil citizens, bombing and shooting them mercilessly, is not only wrong but shames the Sinhalese, whose claim to be custodians of the dhamma is forever called into question by this savagery, much of which is unknown to the public because of censorship.What is more, a military occupation of the country’s north and east will require the Tamil people of those regions to live eternally as second-class citizens, deprived of all self respect. Do not imagine that you can placate them by showering “development” and “reconstruction” on them in the post-war era. The wounds of war will scar them forever, and you will also have an even more bitter and hateful Diaspora to contend with. A problem amenable to a political solution will thus become a festering wound that will yield strife for all eternity. If I seem angry and frustrated, it is only because most of my countrymen – and all of the government – cannot see this writing so plainly on the wall.

Lasantha was not the first to be killed, nor will he be the last. Just a few days before this attack, MTV/MBC/ Sirasa the most popular television station in Sri Lanka that ran several television and radio channels in three languages (Sinhala, Tamil and English), was destroyed with explosives and by gunfire by one of those infamous “white van” death squads of the Sri Lankan government.

After Lasantha’s death, the editor of Rivira, a Sinhala weekly that was known for its neutral views, Upali Tennakoon and his wife were brutally assaulted by a gang of knife wielding scum on motorcycles. Both the editor and his wife suffered several knife cuts.

Today, Lal Hemantha Mawalage, news producer at state-run Television station, Rupavahini, has been admitted to the Colombo General Hospital after being attacked with machete and knives by unknown assailants at 11:30 p.m. Friday while walking in Athurugiriya in Colombo, sources in Colombo said. Mr Mawalage suffered injuries to both hands and body, according to his relatives. The attackers are suspected to be allied to non-cabinet Minister of Labour Mervin Silva who was involved in an altercation at Rupavahini on 26 December.

Informed sources said Minister Silva was irked by the actions of Mr Mawalage who had allegedly commended his fellow journalists at Rupavahini for helping to defend his news editor collegue, T.M.G Chandrasekara, when the Minister attacked him.

If this is the fate of independent Sinhala journalists, then that of Tamil journalists, is worse. Not only do the Tamil journalists of the fascist state risk their lives, but they risk infinite detention without trial and torture.

Several of them have been murdered in cold blood, like Sivaram and Nadesan. Others like Tissainayagam are detained infinitely without trial under draconian laws and tortured.

Tissainayagam started news-website called OutreachSL.com using a grant from FLICT (Foundation for Local Initiatives in Conflict Transformation). FLICT is a Sri Lankan based grant making body funded by the international community (primarily the German government). FLICT funds civic and government initiatives including the government’s Peace Secretariat.

Tissainayagam apprehended by TID (Terrorist Investigation Department) and all staff of the website were apprehended by the TID. Since then, the fascist thugs have kept in detention and tortured him without being given a chance of trial.

The German ambassador, Juergen Weerth, had this to say at the funeral of Lasantha Wickrematunge…

“Today is a day when one remains speechless,” Weerth said at the funeral Monday. “Maybe we should have spoken before this. Today it is too late.”

“Today is a day when humanity has lost a major voice of truth. But he will live in his work,” AFP report said quoting the Ambassador.

Six former US ambassadors have expressed the same in a letter to the leader of the fascist regime.

Paris-based media watchdog Reporters Without Borders said Rajapakse’s government was directly to blame for the death of the editor as it had “incited hatred against him.”

Four more media personnel have been forced to flee Sri Lanka fearing for their lives. They are Sanath Balasuriya and Poddala Jayantha of Lake House, Sunanda Deshapriya and Uvindu Kurukulasuriya of the Free Media Movement. Last week Upul Joseph Fernando of the Lankadeepa, Rathnapala Gamage of Lankadeepa, and Chevan Daniel of MTV left the country. In addition, Iqbal Athas, Keith Noyahr, Namal Perera and Anuruddha Lokuhappuarachchi had already left the country.

Now, to the second part of this post. I do not want to demean or dishonour the honest, sincere, persons who have laid down their lives in defence of the ethics and principles of journalism in a banana republic ruled by fascist, genocidal thugs, by posting something about a person who is paid by the fascist regime to act as its mouthpiece in a neighbouring country where the press are supposed to be “free”. Free, as in free to take huge amounts of money and receive a few “awards” from the fascist goons. Of course, it’s the infamous sewer jounalist of Chennai, Mr. N. Ram, the editor-in-chief of The Hindu, and his bunch of liars, who have been publishing “news” about the genocide in Sri Lanka by faithfully reproducing every single word that the war criminals have been dishing out to him. For this toilet paper, there are no civilians killed in this genocide, when the fact is that hundreds are being killed everyday in “safe zones”, hospitals and ambulances being bombed from the air and with artillery and multi-barrel rocket launchers. For these filthy scum journalists, there is no attack on the media when it is a fact that tens of journalists have been murdered and assaulted and the fact that Sri Lanka is the second most deadly place for journalists in the entire world. All because of this:

This vile liar has received the same award from the murderer-in-chief of the current genocidal regime as well as an award by a government run body that praised “his service to journalism in Asia”. There exists no word in the English language or any language in the world, to describe a “journalist” who is awarded for “journalism” by a fascist, genocidal regime that ranks 165th out of 173 countries in Press Freedom and the country where the second largest number of journalists are brutally murdered or maimed for doing their work.

Journalists who dare to speak the truth get murdered but sewer journalists who blatantly lie get rewarded. These are the sad facts about journalism in Sri Lanka.
