When I came home on Friday and switched on the news, I was horrified to learn that a series of 8 explosions rocked Bengaluru (Bangalore), Karnataka in which 2 people were killed and about 20 were injured. The death toll could have been much higher as other unexploded bombs were defused. One of them was a powerful bomb that was found in a crowded shopping mall.
I came home on Saturday and switched on the news. And what did I see? Death, destruction, blood and ambulances rushing people to hospitals. 49 people were killed and 100 injured in a series of 17 explosions in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Again, some unexploded bombs were defused. Two cars laden with explosives were discovered in Surat, another city in the communally sensitive state of Gujarat.

In both cities, the bombs were sophicated improvised explosive devices (IEDs). While the explosives themselves were crude explosives, the bombs were not. The terrorists used microchips embedded in the bombs to act as timing devices, indicating that they were carried out by people who were trained in making bombs. The terrorists even hacked a computer to send threatening e-mails before the blasts. While a group calling itself the Indian Mujahideen (IM) has claimed responsibility, investigators and intelligence agents believe that the group itself is made of elements from the Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami (HuJI), the Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) as well as some from the Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI).
Killing innocent children, women and men by blasting them to death is a despicable act of cowardice! What is even more shocking is that the scum beings who carried out the blasts in both cities targetted hospitals! While one bomb in Bengaluru went off near a hospital, bombs exploded inside the Civil Hospital and LG Hospital in Ahmedabad. The filthy scum beings even calculated the time it would take for the injured to reach these two hospitals and set the bombs to explode accordingly in the trauma ward. Cold-blooded, savage, cowardly, barbaric, filthy scum of the Earth! Only the most disgusting, sub-amoebic creatures in the world would target the trauma ward in such a manner! Such creatures do exist on our planet!
I pray for the souls of those killed in the blasts and hope that all the injured persons recover completely as soon as possible. I also hope that the people of Gujarat don’t let the scum beings succeed in their nefarious attempts to cause communal tension in the state.

It makes me think of the words I learned somewhere (from the Bible, I think) about knowing true prophets by what follows in their wake…in almost all of these religious cults, if you will, they almost always end up being involved in death and destruction…it should be obvious to most that this is NOT true religion….

These terrorists do not belong to any religion. They only bring shame upon those who follow the religion they claim to represent and to humanity as a whole with their acts of cowardice.
It’s sad that Moroccans as a whole are blamed for the bombings in Europe or America. Something similar happens in India with the suspicion falling on Indian Muslims. Only a few lunatic fringe elements are involved in this but they are trained, supported and controlled by groups of notorious scoundrels in three countries of South Asia.

This is exactly why terrorism must be eradicated. There is just no justification for targeting civilians in such a cruel and inhumane way. My condolence to all the victims and their families.
